The final trailer for 2023’s most controversial yet to be released superhero film is here.

DC and Warner Bros are doing their best to get us hyped up for the movie that will rewrite DC cinema while also starring a public menace worse than Jonathan Majors. But hey, there’s Batman in it, so that must be worth something right?
I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet but I do like how the 2nd Barry’s Flash costume is made out of a batsuit. Jury rigged superhero costumes have always been cool to me, because it shows a character’s ingenuity and talent.
There’s more Batfleck in this trailer than there has been before. I bet he’s going to give Barry a longer speech about the dangers of time travel in the movie. It wouldn’t be Batfleck without him being worried about some hypothetical unspeakable tragedy.

Our other Batman, comic film legend Michael Keaton, is most likely going to be the saving grace of this film. He is one of the more fun parts of the trailer, and has been since WB has been putting out trailers for The Flash.

I’m just gonna say it, as of now Sasha Calle’s Supergirl seems like a very boring character. She’s relatively emotionless and her super suit I find to be generic.
The DCEU Wonder Woman suit was an embrace of the comic’s costume and an update at the same time. Supergirl’s looks like it’s trying to be a version of Cavill’s suit, which in turn makes it feel neither like an embrace of the original Supergirl costume, nor a costume that looks as cool as Cavill’s suit.

My guess is that the reason for having the final battle in the desert where Superman got picked up by Zod in Man of Steel is because they don’t want to have another destroyed Metropolis situation. It doesn’t look like putting the fight in the middle of the desert will make the final battle any less exciting.

I wish that this film didn’t have so much riding on it. It’s both the end of the Snyderverse and the beginning of the Gunn era of DC Films. Other than Aquaman 2 the next most important DC Film is Blue Beetle as it’s supposed to be part of DC Films. One sets up the other, and I wish the film that sets up Blue Beetle didn’t star Ezra Miller.
Overall it’s more of the same with just a bit more Batfleck. If nothing had happened with Ezra Miller then this film would definitely be more hyped up.

I’m not more excited for the film after watching the trailer than I was before. What it still has going for it is it’s the most important DC movie to come out this year.
