Zack Snyder presents Not Star Wars: A Not A Star Wars Story. All jokes aside, this trailer does make me wonder how different the franchise would be if Zack Snyder got to make his Star Wars movie.

Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire stars Sofia Boutella as Kora, the film’s reluctant hero and most wanted person in the galaxy. Joining her are Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Jenna Malone, Anthony Hopkins, Cleopatra Coleman, Ray Fisher, and Ed Skrein.

It’s impossible not to see the similarities between this film and Star Wars. The film started as a Seven Samurai influenced and R-Rated Star Wars film that Zack Snyder wrote, but the script was ultimately turned down. Now, after changing names and details in his script, as well as Army of The Dead being a success, Netflix has given Zack Snyder the opportunity to make his “Star Wars” film.

Kora is Jyn Erso mixed with Luke, Charlie Hunnam’s Kai is Han Solo, there’s red lightsabery things, and there’s an evil space empire that lords over everything. We’ve seen all this before, and we will see it again and again and again.

Visually the movie looks pretty cool. The costumes are great, the battles look awesome, and the set design is good too. Even if this is a Star Wars clone, my hope is that it’s not a boring one. The spaceships look very Kryptonian but they have big ass cannons on them so I’ll forgive Snyder for that.

Netflix has put a lot of faith in Zack Snyder, and it’s not an unwarranted faith either. Army of The Dead was hugely popular and it showed Netflix that he could be behind a project that could succeed. Netflix is also in need of another major original that grabs people attention, and I think this Star Wars clone could do that for them.

More will be said about it once it comes out. Since this film is a pseudo original copy, I personally will need to see the film before I can really give it any praise. My only hope is that it is good and entertaining, which is something a Zack Snyder movie is more than capable of.
