Yeah, you read that right. Marvel has made a deal with Netflix to premiere four new shows on their service: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage. These four will eventually lead up to the Defenders tie-in mini-series.

Each show will air one after another, each year, beginning with Daredevil in 2015. Netflix promises fans that these new shows will allow for a darker, grittier Marvel story more akin to the comics, and will have much more flexibility to work with. Whether or not these projects will be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe remains unclear, but we’re willing to put our chips on the table and say, “yeah.”

Marvel will be co-producing these five TV programs alongside ABC Studios.
