NEWS: THE WIND RISES’ STATESIDE TRAILER RELEASED

Today, the new stateside trailer for Hayao Miyazaki’s The Wind Rises was posted on Youtube. This will be Miyazaki’s final animated movie before retirement, and many are already referring to it as a masterpiece. The film was shown in Los Angeles and New York City last week, is currently being screened in Japanese theatres, and will hit U.S. theatres nationwide on February 21st.

In other related news, it has been confirmed that Miyazaki will be drawing samurai manga during his retirement, which will be serialized for magazines. The manga is described as sengoku, which covers Japan’s Warring States Period. It seems that even in retirement, Japan’s greatest director just can’t sit still.
