ONGOING ANIME: KILL la KILL EPISODE 11
“…Oh, no."
That was the first thought that came to our minds after finishing Kill la Kill episode 11. Possibly the best and most suspenseful episode yet, the events that occurred during the last 15 minutes were a definite game-changer.
Ryuko’s fight with Nonon Jakazure, the third member in the Elite Four, continues as our main heroine finally gains the upper hand with her new uniform transformation, Senketsu Shippu. This new form grants Ryuko the power of flight, which she can now use against Nonon’s massive flying hovercraft of symphonic doom. If she manages to defeat Honnouji Academy’s band leader, Ryuko and Senketsu will move on to their rematch with Uzu Sanageyama, the last of the Elite Four, and hopefully the final battle against Satsuki Kiryuin herself. But meanwhile, this strange girl dressed in elegant clothing and a foreboding eyepatch keeps popping up all over the place. Not only that, but something just feels off about her. Just who the hell is she…?
It would be impossible to discuss this episode without revealing spoilers, so if you haven’t watched it yet, GO DO IT NOW. The first half of episode 11 was more or less what fans were expecting this past week from the show: Ryuko battling the Elite Four in order to get to Satsuki and finally discover the meaning behind her father’s death. What none of us did see coming was the second half of the episode, where the girl pictured above- Nui Harime- interrupts Ryuko and Sanageyama’s fight… and we finally get a glimpse at Satsuki’s mother, Ragyo Kiryuin. Even Satsuki panicked when this newcomer stepped onto the stage. Seriously, Nui destroyed Sanageyama’s uniform with one finger. Hell, this might turn out to be a "bad guys were really the good guys” plot twist… ESPECIALLY with the shocking development that was made in the last 2 minutes of this episode. With the introduction of two horrifyingly powerful characters, we’ve got a feeling that the entire scope of Kill la Kill is about to change.
The thing we love about this show is, you never know what the hell is going to happen next. And that’s precisely our thoughts on next week’s episode. Nui and Ryuko face off… but this opponent might be far out of Ryuko’s league! Whatever happens, it could be brutal for the main characters. Fans of Kill la Kill, we hope you’re looking forward to episode 12 just as much as we are!
