NEWS: GURREN LAGANN COMES TO TOONAMI

It was only a matter of time before one of the greatest mecha anime of all time made its way to Adult Swim’s Toonami block. If you’re a fan who’s been clamoring for big robot action on the block lately, now’s your time to rejoice!

As many of you already know, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann redefined the mecha genre with its bold characters, unique animation style and that touch of Gainax spirit. Gurren Lagann has manifested a massive hardcore fanbase (and for good reason), and has been critically acclaimed by the entire anime industry, so it only makes sense to premiere the show on Toonami. Also, it’s just a damn good action show.

Gurren Lagann will premiere on Toonami August 16th at 2a.m. ET/PT after Blue Exorcist has finished its 24 episode run. For the original announcement video, check it out here.
