NEWS: FINAL FANTASY XV DEBUTS TRAILER AT TOKYO GAME SHOW
Despite previous reports that Square Enix’s long-in-development project wasn’t going to make an appearance at Tokyo Game Show this year, fans were treated to a very impressive trailer this past evening. Final Fantasy XV’s TGS trailer was more so an exposition of its environments outside Crown City and Noctis’ journey rather than gameplay footage. We still managed to catch a few scenes of gameplay though, and it still looks damn awesome. But what’s truly gorgeous is all the landscapes and backgrounds (especially that Astral Shard Noctis’ gang found). And even the characters look better than ever, boasting all that Final Fantasy beauty we know and love.
Alongside this trailer, Square Enix announced that Tetsuya Nomura would be stepping down from his position as director of FFXV and would be replaced by Hajime Tabata, director of Final Fantasy Type-0. No worries though, Nomura’s simply shifting positions to focus more on development for Kingdom Hearts III, which I bet some people are even more eager to play. All of Nomura’s contributions to the game’s world-building, characters and plot will remain.
Lastly, SE stated that it would be releasing an “Episode Duscae” demo of FFXV with its release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD in both the US and Japan during March next year. Gamers, rejoice. We’re almost at the end of our 10-year journey.
