Our ray of hope for more DC animated shows on Adult Swim’s Toonami block is unfortunately being “written off” by their financial department along with fan-favorite show Sym-Bionic Titan, and will be leaving the block after this weekend. Good news is, being the cool bunch of guys Toonami are they’ve decided to air every last unaired episode of Beware the Batman in a row this Saturday @2:30am as both a marathon, a send off and a service to the fans.

This is the latest in a series of schedule changes Toonami’s had to go through these past few weeks, naturally due to finished seasons and ratings. Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ departure from the block was moved up to effective immediately after announcement of the Bat-marathon, and both SW and Batman will be replaced by Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and The Big O: Season 2. Hellsing Ultimate will also be skipped this weekend, and its timeslot will be moved up next week to 2am.

Does this suck? Oh HELL yes. The new retelling of Batman originally got screwed out of half its episodes by Cartoon Network after only 3 months on the air. Its revival on Toonami was a Godsend and retribution for these fans, only to again have its glory cut short. It got boned just as hard as Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice did! But, at least the entire show will get to finish what it started this Saturday. After that, Beware the Batman: Dark Justice Season One Part Two will be on sale on Amazon September 30th.
