VIDEO: THE GAME ROOM @ ANIME NEBRASKON 2014!

When visiting Anime NebrasKon, there’s always one safehaven for gamers to visit inbetween panels: The Gameroom. We decided to take a break from the convention floor and check out what kinds of tournaments and multiplayer games they had available this year.

The Halo Joust was the first tournament available on Friday night of the convention, where two players would essentially hop on a couple of Warthogs in Halo 4 and play a game of chicken before engaging in a duel equipped with gravity hammers. The Halo Joust has been an annual tradition at NebrasKon for a few years now, and it’s designed to be more hectic fun than competitive. Of course, competitive play was still present at the Gameroom with Super Smash Bros. Brawl on deck.

Music/rhythm gaming also filled several corners of the room, including tablet-touch games like OSU! and some arcade cabinet-style reflex games and Kinect dancing. But the two most popular scenes were the Rock Band section and a full Dance Dance Revolution arcade set-up. As you’ll see in the video above, some people watching the game get more into the groove than those actually playing.

Stay tuned for more convention videos of the panels, dealer’s room and impressive cosplay from Anime NebrasKon 2014!
