NEWS: MAJORA’S MASK 3DS GETS NEW 3DS XL EDITION AND RELEASE DATE

The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will be released February 13, 2015. Does that date sound familiar? It should, because that’s the day that Nintendo’s next version of the 3DS, dubbed “New Nintendo 3DS XL,” is being released.

There’s also going to be a special edition release themed after Majora’s Mask. Unfortunately, Gamestop has listed it as “Not Available,” and it is currently unknown if they’re going to get more in stock by release day.

Nintendo of America’s Bill Trinen had this to say about the subject: “Love it or fear it, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D is an emotional experience; and with New Nintendo 3DS XL you’ll be even more immersed in this classic gaming world thanks to its face tracking 3D technology.” New 3DS users will also be able to have full 360 degree control of the camera. While this is a great feature, is it a must-have feature for those who play on the current 3DS? Probably not.

I haven’t seen the new face tracking 3D in action yet, but if it works well and can truly help with immersion then I’m sure it will be a welcome edition. On a related note, If you pre-order Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. at Gamestop you’ll receive a Majora’s Mask pin at pickup (while supplies last).
