NEWS: TOONAMI SCHEDULE OFFICIALLY GETS SHORTENED TO OVER 3 HOURS
Even more somber news for all you Toonami Faithful out there, as Adult Swim’s Toonami announced on their site earlier today that the block’s schedule would officially get cut down to 3.5 hours.
Cause for the decrease in broadcast time has been listed as a severe drop in ratings over the past several weeks. These schedule changes will take effect on February 7th, and a finalized premiere time has also been listed for Kill la Kill. The new schedule can be seen below:
12:00 – Dragonball Z Kai
12:30 – Kill la Kill
1:00 – Naruto Shippuden
1:30 – Inuyasha: The Final Act
2:00 – Gurren Lagann
2:30 – One Piece
3:00 – Deadman Wonderland
The entire schedule will now be comprised of new premieres each week, instead of a mixture of reruns and premieres like in the past. Concerning rerunning shows such as Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell, Attack on Titan and Space Dandy, Toonami stated that these shows may or may not return to the block’s schedule at some point, and that nothing is set in stone at this moment. However, Toonami still promises that the block isn’t going anywhere, and that there are plenty of new shows and Toonami-related surprises on the way later this year.
