NEWS: DENGEKIBUNKO FIGHTING CLIMAX TAKES A TRIP TO THE WEST
The
popular 2D fighting game Dengeki Bunko
Fighting Climax will be released in Europe and North America late this
summer, announced Sega.
For
those unfamiliar with the game, Dengeki
Bunko Fighting Climax is made to celebrate the 20th anniversary
of the Dengeki Bunko light novel imprint affiliated with the publishing company
ASCII Media Works. The game was originally released in Japanese arcades under
Sega on March 18, 2014. Popularity eventually demanded a home release later
that year in November. Fighting Climax
features many characters from recently popular series such as Sword Art Online and Shakugan no Shana.
The
game is being released overseas in its entirety, including all main and support
characters, as well as the additional content obtained from being unlocked with
in-game points or through the new “Dream Duel” debuting in the home release.
Samples of the light novels these characters came from are even included as
unlockable content, which is good news for the fans of the original material.
Also
like the Japanese release, Fighting
Climax will be exclusive to the Playstation 3 and PS Vita. This is good
news for fans who have not yet acquired a Playstation 4, allowing those still
on the older console to enjoy a great game. Unfortunately, there is no word yet
on a Playstation 4 port yet, but hopefully a Playstation Now release will be
announced for those who only have the latest console.
That’s
all for now. This game looks great, so look forward to a specific release date
in the future.
