April 10th marks the premiere of Netflix’s newest original series. That series is none other than Marvel’s Daredevil, the first of five series based off of Marvel characters coming to Netflix.

In the recently released trailer, we get to see Daredevil do flips and kicks and slug some thugs. We get to see Daredevil’s sweet costume, which for those who are concerned is comic book accurate. I’m sure we will get to see his more famous suit later on in the series or in The Defenders. We get to see how Daredevil’s super hearing works, and the Kingpin also makes an appearance in the trailer. The trailer doesn’t reveal much about the Kingpin’s intentions, but we’ll probably find out soon enough. The trailer also has a different feel than most other Marvel properties, as it gives off a darker vibe. The music in the trailer gets us hooked on a feeling of dread, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The only gripe I have about the trailer is the bit with the priest because the whole “confessing sins” thing feels a little cliche, but other than that this trailer is pretty good.

Just based on this trailer I can tell that Marvel is doing their best to make this Daredevil adaptation nothing like the one that happened in 2003. It looks to be the grittiest and probably most adult addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We won’t be able to know for sure until April 10th, so we’ll wait and see. Hopefully the trailers coming out after this one will be in the same vein, and keeps us intrigued by only giving us bits and pieces. I can’t wait for Daredevil, and hopefully after watching this teaser you’ll also be excited.
