Nintendo announced today that a non-XL version of the New Nintendo 3DS will be released in North America on September 25th.
The system will come bundled with Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer as well as two faceplates and an amiibo card based off the game. Overall, the system bundle will run for $219.99.
Additionally, Nintendo will also be releasing a Legend of Zelda-themed New Nintendo 3DS XL on October 30th as a Gamestop exclusive. The system is referred to as the “Hyrule Edition,” and will run for $199.99.
Nintendo previously released the New Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe during February this year, but as an XL-only release. Nintendo’s reasons for initially doing so were never made clear, but this development is sure to please fans. Nintendo also released a Majora’s Mask-themed New 3DS XL earlier this year to coincide with the release of Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D.
