NEWS: Bionicle: Quest for Mata Nui Reveals Muaka and Kane-Ra

It’s been a while since we heard from the dev team for Bionicle: Quest for Mata Nui. But yesterday, we received a new update on two enemies currently in development for the hotly anticipated LEGO fan game – Muaka and Kane-ra!

The update features Muaka first, and describes it as “a panther like” beast that will frequently evade the Toa’s attacks and pursue the player relentlessly with it’s own lunging attacks. The Kane-ra is described as a bull, no doubt due to its yellow horns, and is a tank enemy with loads of health. It won’t be trying to evade Toa attacks, because it can easily overcome a player and deal heavy damage with its earthquake move.

The dev team also took this opportunity to describe the meeting that its head of operations, CrainyCreation, had with representatives from LEGO a few months ago. When Quest for Mata Nui was first unveiled earlier this year, it was initially met with widespread fears of a cease and desist (C&D) order from LEGO. Bionicle Forum group The TTV Channel even held a livestream to describe the likelihood of a C&D actually occurring. However, it was announced in this update that LEGO is very excited about this project and even offered guidelines to smooth out the development process for Crainy and his team.

The Quest for Mata Nui’s dev team rounded out the update with a brief montage of the game in action. Just like in previous updates, the game looks gorgeous and faithful to the original setting of the beloved toy franchise. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before fans have a chance to explore the great island of Mata Nui.

Bionicle: Quest for Mata Nui is currently in development for PC. There is no slated release date, but you can go support the project by joining the official Discord channel.
